That is exactly what they are doing when they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre of Modern Management - CMM, in Kuching on 14 October 1999. Incorporated in Kuala Lumpur in 1978, SMR has gradually focused its attention on human resource development and is today a regional leader in the field. Besides its innovative training methods, SMR is recognised for leading the development and marketing of training products including books, games and videos and especially the HRD Power software. CMM is Sarawak's leading Human Resource and Organisational Development (HROD) centre specializing in the business of organizational transformations and change in line with the government's effort to transform Sarawak into a fully developed state by the year 2020. One of the areas that has been identified is the need to develop Sarawak's own pool of trainers/facilitators/consultants. Therefore, one of the major initiatives that will be undertaken through this collaboration is the development of a pool of Sarawak's own trainers/facilitators/consultants to accelerate the learing and training of the state's human resource. This will lead to a faster and more cost-effective transformation of the state's New Civil Service. In addition, CMM and SMR will collaborate in organising the first Trainers-Meet-Trainers Conference to be held sometime in the year 2000.
