YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hj. Hamid Bugo signs the Pledge Board - a commitment to help sustain the project

YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Hamid Bugo called on the community in Kota Sentosa to be more civic-minded while he commended ACTionetwork Team Abadi for adopting a portion of Kota Sentosa through its Adoptl-A-Street Campaign which was launched on Sunday, 31st October 1999.

In his launching speech, he further stressed that more people should be civic-minded environmentally friendly as this would lead to a better-manager council.

"If people are civic-minded and do their part in making our surroundings clean, we don't need to employ many council workers to sweep the street, for instance".

He was speaking before an audience comprised of ACTionetwork members, Padawan Municipal Chairman officials led by its Municipal  Chairman, Cr Matthew Chen Tin Kong and its Municipal Council Secretary, En. Abang Affandi Abang Anuar, headmasters, teachers and students from the nearby schools and also the residents of Kota Sentosa.

After the launching, ACTionework Team Abadi will undertake environmental programmes that will focus not only on the physical component but also on certain activities that will help change the mindset of the people towards maintaining the cleanliness of our surroundings and the preservation of our environment. Among these activities which they will conduct together with other civic organisations and corporate firms are educational field trips, environmental talks, drawing competition and community dialogues.

ACTionetwork Team Abadi is composed of En. Then Hon Nyian and Puan Susan Loh (Padawan Municipal Council); En. Adrew Wang (JKR); En. Zainuddin Bin Ajmean and En. Lawrence Sigai (Agriculture Dept.); Inspector Chan Shun Sing (Royal Malaysian Police) and En. Liew Nam Onn (State Stadium).
