Online Publisher:          Contents provided by:	We did it again STB wins Gold Star for Quality Award Sarawak Tourism Board did it again when it won the International Gold Star for Quality Convention in Geneva, Switzerland recently. This award adds another feather on STB's cap after winning 16 other awards since its formation in 1995. The award was presented by Business Initiatives Direction (BID), a marketing information firm based in Spain in recognition of an organisation's corporate achievement, quality and excellence in various criteria including customer satisfaction, communication strategies, leadership planning and human resource. STB Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Hamid Bugo, who is also the State Secretary of Sarawak expressed his pride and appreciation for the people behind the Sarawak Tourism Board for their efforts in promoting Sarawak image at bort national and international levels. The fact that the annual Gold Star for Quality Award is Given in recognition of the companies, organisations and professionals that are outstading in the business world speaks well for itself. Winning the award does not end there. In accepting the award, Sarawak Tourism Board will pledge commitment to the overall quality guidelines that will serve as an example for the development of the quality community. In a separate ceremony held on November 11, 1999 Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Hamid Bugo handed over the award to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud who expressed his confidence in Sarawak's ability to carve a unique image of her own in the international market.
