STRESS AFFECTS OUR HEALTH

Be aware and do something about it

We cannot escape from stress in our daily lives. The importance here is how we handle and manage these stresses that we have handle and manage these stresses that we have encountered or going to encounter in our personal, financial, social, family and work life. To some people, stress is a necessity of life and they thrive under the pressure or stress while others are incapacitated by it. However, if we have an excess of stress coming at us all at once or constantly, even the hardiest of person can crumble over the time, sometimes without realising that stress in the long run can cause stress-related or stress-induced illness or health problems ilke ulcer, hypertension or heart disease.

Thomas Homes and Richard Rahe two researchers, found that negative events like divorce, illness and financial problems are definetely stressors. What was surprising was that they discovered that people also found positive events like marriage, vacations and festive holidays to be stressful, albeit of lower stress levels as compared to negative events.
