The discovery is that there is capable and vibrant life in the Sarawak Civil Service just waiting to be tapped to its fullest potential. My previous contacts with the Civil Service have been few and far between. To say the least, I too have my own misconceptions into positive perceptions. The 40 plus Civil Service volunteers involved in the training programme held from 15-21 July 1998 on "Advocacy Communication for the Agents of Change Team of the Sarawak Civil Service" is a group full of energy, ideas, camaraderie and hope for a better Civil Service. I can see it and I can feel it.   Today I too am full of hope. The transformation of the New Sarawak Service will be given a boost through the Communication Master Plan 2000 (CMP2000) in the hands of the ACTionetwork - a group of voluntary Civil Servants who are the Agents of Change Team working together towards a positive transformation of the Sarawak Civil Service as a cohesive network. What results can we see from their efforts? It shall mean better communication, co-operation and understanding within the Civil Service, and between the Civil Service and the general public.   The commitment of all ACTionetwork's members shall be the blood that flows red and true in each of the dedicated and dynamic volunteers from all levels of the Sarawak Civil Service.   Communication is the key to open locked doors of misunderstanding, apathy, indifference and lethargy, and allow open doors of understanding, empathy, concern and efficiency throughout the Sarawak Civil Service.     Pledge of Commitment to the ACTionetwork I am committed to sustain a network of practising change communicators in the Sarawak Civil Service through my active involvement in the Agents of Change Team Network. I fully understand that the goals and objectives of the ACTionetwork is anchored on the Transformation Programme of the Sarawak Civil Service. I fully understand the responsibilities of being a catalyst in making the precepts and ideals of the New Civil Service a reality in my own life as well as in my dealings with my colleagues in the Civil Service and with the general public. Having agreed to commit myself to this formal network of "change communicators", I pledge to do my best to meet regularly with fellow members and to undertake joint activities that will improve our competence in communication and make us effective change agents for the Sarawak Civil Service.
