This year, the CMM is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Since its transformation from the State Public Service Training Centre in 1994 to what it is today, CMM has been the leading centre in the state for a wide range of human resource and organisational development pro-grammes. Following are messages extracted from CMMs Directory of Programmes 2000. As we enter the new millennium, we in the State Civil Service should ask ourselves, are we prepared and ready to meet the challenges of the new millennium and to compete successfully in the rapidly shifting global climate To prepare for the challenges as well as opportunities, we need to equip ourselves with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude. We need a knowledgeable society. We need a thinking Civil Service with civil servants who are not only knowledgeable but who will use their knowledge to understand the needs of our people and help them build a better quality of life in this new millennium. We need people who are skilful, adaptive, responsive and innovative to face challenges, knowledge-seeking and eager for self-improvement.
