CMM IS 5 THIS YEAR

The Centre for Modern Management is living up to its image as the provider of valuable human resource and organisational development programmes to the public and provate sectors.
In Sarawak, one of the foremost places where human resource and organisational development programmes and training are carried out is at the Centre for Modern Management or CMM. This year, the CMM is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Since its transformation from the State Public Service Training Centre in 1994 to what it is today, CMM has been the leading centre in the state for a wide range of human resource and organisational development pro-grammes. Following are messages extracted from CMMs Directory of Programmes 2000.

As we enter the new millennium, we in the State Civil Service should ask ourselves, are we prepared and ready to meet the challenges of the new millennium and to compete successfully in the rapidly shifting global climate To prepare for the challenges as well as opportunities, we need to equip ourselves with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude. We need a knowledgeable society. We need a thinking Civil Service with civil servants who are not only knowledgeable but who will use their knowledge to understand the needs of our people and help them build a better quality of life in this new millennium. We need people who are skilful, adaptive, responsive and innovative to face challenges, knowledge-seeking and eager for self-improvement.

Foreign trainers and experts are accomodated by CMM to facilitate its training programmes

Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Hamid Bugo

State Secretary

The Sarawak Government has taken many initiatives to ensure there is a balance in human resource development in the public and private sectors. One of these initiatives was the establishment of CMM to facilitate the synergy between both sectors through the provision of its quality and innovative human resource and organisational development programs and initiatives. By attending the same learning programmes facilitated by CMM, everybody will be imbued with the same core values and shared vision for the development of the State.

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz Husain

Deputy State Secretary for Human Resource and Chairman of CMM

Signing the MoUs takes place regularly between CMM and its training providers
The accreditation of CMM to the ISO9001:1994 Standard by two accreditation bodies, Department of Standard Malaysia and United Kingdom Accreditation Service in February 1999 serves to motivate CMM to go for further height of excellence in all its endeavours. The double accreditation awarded to CMM means that CMM is recognised at both national and international levels as a provider of quality human resource and organisational development pro-grammes and consultancy services.

Haji Abdillah Suffian bin Abdul Rahim

Managing Director, CMM
