SARAWAK Millennium of Harmony

MILLENNIUM LOGO RATIONALE:

The logo symbolises the unity among the people of Sarawak, who. having lived harmoniously in the past, is now preparing to welcome the New Millennium with confidence of greater achievements for the future.

CONCEPT:

More activities for the expressions and integration of cultural difference.
The logo depicts the celebrative mood of the New Millennium. The dancing figure, represented simply by brush strokes to add more life or action to the figure, resembles a gesture of open arms which symbolises warmth and friendship and can also be interpreted as a an expression of gratitude for past achievements and progress.

The three rings encircling the dancing figure depicts the arrival of the New Millennium. The three rings represents the Y2K, i.e. Year 2000.

The globe represents the identity of the whole logo. It shows the location of one's country on the globe where the millennium

celebrations are taking place. It also represents the awareness of the people on the march towards globalisation in many aspects of our life.

To maintain the identity, the state flag's colours are used - black, red and yellow. The colours chosen have strong qualities and as such it indicates the positive determination and resilience of the people of Sarawak in its march towards the new millennium.
