he year 2001 is declared as the International Year of Volunteers. In conjunction with this, AZAM together with Konrad Adenauer Stiffung organised a seminar on Volunteerism - Creating a Meaningful Change from 11th - 12th October, 2001 in Kuching.

There is a need for a new governance, new approaches and a new working atmosphere for all the volunteers. These are the issues that need to be addressed globally and implemented locally with due consideration of existing patterns in the local communities.
