  • Biodiversiti Kekayaan Negeri yang Belum Diterokai

    Kira-kira 70 peratus daripada keluasan negeri Sarawak masih dilitupi hutan yang menjadi tempat perlindungan kepada ribuan spesis tumbuhan, haiwan dan serangga. Keistimewaan itu telah meletakkan Sarawak sebagai salah satu daripada 12 wilayah mega biodiversiti di dunia.

    Penubuhan Askar Wataniah (AW)adalah penting kepada keselamatan negara bukan sahaja sebagai pertahanan kedua negara tetapi yang lebih penting adalah dari segi penglibatan orang ramai secara sukarela dalam menjaga keselamatan negara. Ini telah dapat dibuktikan dengan tertubuhnya volunteer force dalam tahun 1902,dan semasa perang dunia kedua pasukan ini telah berganding bahu dengan tentera British menentang tentera Jepun.

    Coming from a family that have members who are doctors and nurses, I have a healthy respect for the medical and nursing professions, especially when they hold sharp pointed needles in their hands. “All the better to jab you with, my dear,” so I would think. Of course, their aim is to make your illness go away and not hurt you intentionally. Doctors and nurses are after all good caring people.

  • Sarawak’s First and Only Textile Museum Opens to Public

    Another historical moment happening in a historical building, and it is in fact for the sake of our historical heritage. On September 9th 2005, the Chief Minister’s wife, Datuk Amar Puan Sri Dr. Hajjah Laila Taib, has officially opened Sarawak’s first textile museum.

  • A Night To Remember for JKM Staff

    September 25th 2005 was a memorable night for the staff from nine units of the Chief Minister’s Department. The best part about the night was, it wasn’t’ just a night for the staff, but also the night for their children, who excelled in studies.
