Asli dan Alam Sekitar Sarawak (NREB) sedang menggubal dua undang-undang baru
bagi membendung pencemaran sungai di negeri ini.
Kaedah ekologi akan digunakan untuk
mengawal tahap pencemaran Sungai Bintangor dan Sungai Padungan yang dikenalpasti
merupakan dua sumber utama membawa kepada pencemaran Sungai Sarawak.
Unit Kawalan Mutu Makanan (UKMM) Jabatan
Kesihatan Bahagian Bintulu berjaya merampas 34 jenis makanan dengan nilai rampasan
sebanyak RM3,820.30 dalam satu operasi baru-baru ini.
Usaha untuk terus membangunkan Bahagian
Samarahan sebagai pengeluar makanan utama, pusat pendidikan yang terulung, pusat
industri perkayuan serta industriringan di negeri ini mula membuahkan hasil
dan telah memberi implikasi positif terhadap kemudahan fizikal mahupun sosio
ekonomi penduduknya.
With the deluge of products in the
market in this era of globalization and trade liberalization, we as consumers
have to make smart decisions on which products are safe for consumption or are
of dubious origins. This was the concern addressed by the Consumer Awareness
Seminar that was recently organized by the Consumer Association Kapit Division
in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs
(MDTCA) Kapit Branch.
The
new township Tanjung Manis in Mukah Division recently hosted the second of 4-yearly
meetings of statutory bodies and local authorities. The meeting was chaired
by the State Secretary Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz Husain and was attended by
about 70 heads of department including the Deputy
State Secretary Datu Haji Salleh Sulaiman and local authority officials. STIDC
(PUSAKA) had the privilege to co-ordinate the meeting.
The State government continues to
assist the low-income sector of the society, especially in the rural areas,
by implementing various income-generating ventures with the Sarawak Economic
Development Corporation (SEDC). One of these schemes is the Cattle Feedlot Scheme
for cattle rearing and fattening, covering Kuching and Bintulu divisions.
Mhe first meeting for 2004 between
the offices of the Deputy State Secretary (Planning & Development) and Residents
was held in Bintulu on 30 March 2004 at the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA)
Complex. The day before the meeting, the entourage led by YBhg Datu Wilson Baya
Dandot, Deputy State Secretary, visited Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd and the latest
water treatment plant of LAKU Management Sdn Bhd, Bintulu.
Datuk Seri Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi, Mac lalu telah mengumumkan perubahan besar dalam kabinet yang
menyaksikan tiga kementerian dipecahkan serta beberapa muka baru diperkenalkan,
bertujuan memantapkan jentera kerajaan.
Penambahan
bilangan kementerian tidak akan menimbulkan lebih banyak karenah birokrasi tetapi
bertujuan menyelaras pentadbiran kerajaan untuk menjadikannya lebih berkesan
kata Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

adalah senarai anggota kabinet dan anggota pentadbiran kerajaan pimpinan Perdana
Menteri Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yang diumumkan Mac lalu.
Kerajaan
pada Februari lalu telah bersetuju dengan cadangan Lembaga KWSP untuk mengisytiharkan
kadar dividen 4.50 peratus bagi tahun 2003, peningkatan daripada kadar 4.25
peratus bagi tahun 2002. Peningkatan kadar tersebut adalah berikutan bertambahnya
pendapatan pelaburan yang diperolehi daripada pelbagai portfolio pelaburannya
terutama dalam ekuiti.

Entrepreneur Development Programme or Putera Scheme to help Bumiputra traders
involved in the service industry like selling food and drinks, handicrafts and
other small-scale businesses
Although the country is now in the midst of accelerating its hi-tech capabilities
by adopting and expanding the full spectrum of third generation technology and
upgrading Internet services, the rate of PC ownership remains comparatively
low. Since year 2000, various steps such as the computer ownership campaigns,
the use of EPF to purchase computers, and the RM300 income tax rebate have been
taken to prime up personal computer owners hip.
