MBJ Will Hold a Meeting Every Quarter to Enhance Effectiveness

Mesyuarat Pemantauan Majlis Bersama Jabatan (MBJ) at Sarawak State level had held it inaugural meeting last March. The meeting then will be held quarterly to enhance the effectiveness of MBJ in Sarawak.

This meeting also double-act as a forum for the government agencies in the State to get clarification regarding the issues faced by MBJ. YBhg Datu Abdul Ghafur Shariff, Director of Human Resource Management Unit in Chief Minister’s Department had chaired the meeting. Permanent Secretaries, Residents and Head of Departments attended the meeting.

According to Datu Abdul Ghafur, Sarawak has been a role model for the other states following the success of establishing MBJ in every state agency. The success lead to the invitation for the Sarawak State Government to brief on the progress and achievement of MBJ in the state at the Mesyuarat Pemantauan MBJ National level that was held in Tawau, Sabah last February.

To appreciate their effort and to enhance the progress of MBJ in all agencies in Malaysia, the JPA has award the appreciation certificate to every MBJ that succeed in holding the full meeting starting this year.

All 11 MBJ in Sarawak has been honoured to receive the certificate at the end of the meeting.

1. Chief Minister’s Department

2. Ministry of Planning and Human Resource Management

3. Ministry of Industrial Development

4. Syariah Judiciary Department

5. Museum Department

6. Department of Religious Affair

7. Sarawak Forestry

8. Kuching Port Authority

9. Miri City Council

10.Sibu Municipal Council

11.Padawan Municipal Council

a. Issues that arose by every MBJ agency will be forward by JPA to the Prime Minister’s Office.

b. At State level, the briefing to MMKN will be held yearly to inform the progress of MBJ in Sarawak.

c. Starting this year, the MBJ report will be forward in Permanant Secretaries/Residents Meeting every quarter.

d. Clause 5 of MBJ Constitution stated that the membership from the employee is valid for two years starting form the date of appointment and re-election
must be held after the said period.

e. All agencies need to hold MBJ meeting every quarter and to forward the minutes of meeting to JPA not later than two weeks.

f. For monitoring purpose, all agencies must send the schedule of meeting according to quarterly event to Human Resource Management Unit
.
