Sarawak Industrial Promotion and Exhibition Centre (SIPEC) Information and Mini Trade Exhibition Centre

The newly renovated SIPEC building at Jalan P. Ramlee
The newly renovated Sarawak Industrial Promotion and Exhi-bition Centre or SIPEC, a mini industrial promotion and exhibition centre at Jalan Haji Taha in Kuching is the new pride of the Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) Sarawak.

Prior to its launching on 25th September 2003 by YAB Tan Sri Datuk Amar George Chan Hong Nam, Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak, the exhibition centre has undergone several transformations.

It began as the Geological Department Office in the 1970s before it was taken over by Sarawak Economic Deve-lopment Corporation for its Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Development Coordination Centre in the 1980s. In the 1990s, the building was turned over to the Ministry of Industrial Development where it served as Sarawak Industrial and Entre-preneur Information Centre. Today, the newly renovated MID’s SIPEC is one of the latest assets of the Ministry, providing an appropriate place for mini exhibitions and seminars for government agencies and related organisations.
