Bureaucratic red tape and corruption hinder businesses and hamper economic growth.That is a fact. A fact consistently and continuously addressed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. “There is no excuse for agencies not to have an efficient delivery system as the government has invested greatly in providing them with up-to-date technology and office automation,” he expressed.

Form filling and queuing at government service counters should be fast and efficient; instead of slow and sluggish, and at times confusing when customers are referred to several departments before their applications are processed.

Furthermore,the presence of such tedious bureaucratic process and red tape,causing delays and frustrations could easily give rise to corrupt practices

“It is crucial that the government get all the support from the people in putting an end to corrupt practices and ensure the steady growth of the nation,” said the Prime Minister. Malaysia is facing an exciting future as the world ’s focus and centre of gravity is shifting to Asia,shown by the flow of trade and investment outside of and within Asia.

According to a survey of 34 developed and developing countries by Deutsche Bank, India has the highest growth potential from the period 2006 to 2020,followed by Malaysia and China in second and third place respectively.
