Government Forms to be Simplified … No more hassles in filling-up government forms

To the senior citizens, the
redesigned and simplified forms
would be more friendlier and easy
to fill-up.
Filling government forms will soon be much easier and less tedious for the public. This is because the format of the official forms will be redesigned and simplified in order to avoid inefficiency of services rendered to the public as well as to cut down on unnecessary bureaucracy matters. Only relevant information would be required from the public who fill-up the forms issued by both government and its agencies.

Disclosing this recently, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Samsudin Osman, said the performances of the organizations are affected by the inefficient systems and work procedures. As such, it has created dissatisfaction among the people.

The government departments and agencies are to practice a more transparent system and it would be put in place in so that there would be no doubts about decisions by government agencies.

Therefore, to measure the performance, work quality and the employees’ productivity, he stressed on the importance of having guidelines, standard and
indicators.

Meanwhile, this was agreed by the director of State’s Public Services Department, Haji Harun bin Ali.

Welcoming the announce-ment made by Tan Sri Samsuddin, he said by redesigning and simplifying the official forms, the public could understand better on how to fill-up the forms and avoid making mistakes.

On the SPA 8 forms (form to apply vacancies in the public sector), distributed by the Public Services Department, Haji Harun said the common mistakes
made when filling-up the forms are like incomplete personal details, such as, I.C no., birth certificate no., address, names and wrong codes.

He said every form sold come together with a handbook for reference on how to fill-up the forms.

“It is advisable that the public should read the guidelines before they fill-up each column, to avoid making mistakes,” he said.

For the department, every fourth week of the month is its Customer Service Day. Members of the public who wish to make any enquiry can go to 10th floor of Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Simpang Tiga, Kuching.
