Overnight visitors must book there accommodation before hand at the National Parks & Wildlife Booking Office at the Visitors' Information Centre, Kuching. There are chalets and hostel-type rooms.
Accommodation is also available in Lundu town. The Lundu Gading Hotel is clean and friendly. All rooms have air-con and TV. Most have attached bathrooms. Published rates are RM 58 with attached bathroom, RM 48 without. The Cheng Hak Boarding House has basic rooms without attached bathroom for RM 20 (fan) and RM 28 (a/c). Contact Goh Joo Hak store at No. 51 Lundu Bazaar. Getting There Gunung Gading is located near Lundu, a pleasant little town in Southwest Sarawak, about a two hour drive from Kuching. Sarawak Transport Company bus No. 2B operates on the Kuching-Lundu route. Buses leave from Jalan Gambier and take about 90 minutes. The fare is RM 6.80 or RM 7.80 if the bus is air-con. From Lundu take a Pandan bus (RM 0.40) and ask the driver to drop you off at the park. Other alternatives are to rent a car for the day (around RM 120) or charter a taxi (negotiable, RM 20 per hour plus waiting time). Kuching-based tour operators can also arrange day trip tours to Gunung Gading. Rafflesia Information Desk Both the Park HQ (Tel: 082-735714) and the National Parks & Wildlife Office in Kuching (Tel: 082-248088) can tell you if a Rafflesia is blooming.
