A long time ago there lived a couple in a very isolated place surrounded by seven hills. The time had come for the wife to give birth to their first child. Before this happened, the husband was called to a war across the seven hills. As he left he put an egg turned round and round, it meant that he is in trouble. He then started on his journey with a heavy heart. On the way, he made seven suki` s (bamboo cups) and filled them with water. He drank one suki of water after climbing a hill, until he reached the seventh hill. As soon as he had climbed the seventh hill he was captured by his enemies and was imprisoned for a few years, after which he would be flayed to death. Back at his home the egg kept turning very slowly without stopping. The wife saw this and she felt very sad for she would never see her dear husband again. The egg kept turning, but one day it turned more quickly than before. The son, who was called Pasok Momogun, was already a young man and very strong and handsome. Seeing the egg turning round without stopping he was surprised and asked his mother. She told him about his father and he felt very sad about it. Then he decided that he would go and look for his father. He started the next day and followed the same path that hisf father had taken years ago. He soon came to the seventh hill, and down below he saw a village. Immediately he guessed that htese must be the people who had captured his father. He went there slowly.
He pretended to be very friendly with them, telling them that he would help them to win the war. He told them that they were very brave and this flattered them. He gave them more tapai to drink for he said that they must celebrate his arrival. When everybody was drunk and had fallen asleep, he chopped their heads off and released his father. There was blood all over the place and children started to scream and shout at the sight of this. Some of the women ran away, too frightened to be killed. After he had finished chopping off the heads, he released his father. They were soon on their way home, talking happily as they were walking. This was the first time they talked to each other. Both felt glad that they were once again united.
