AT THE TIME of the flood the water rose very slowly, at the rate
of the depth of one egg in one month. All the flat lands were
flooded and the people escaped to higher ground.
The flood continued to rise and people escaped to the hills.
They went to Mt. Rumaku's but it was also flooded there. Then
they fled to Mt. Baba. All the other mountains were flooded, and
although Mt. Baba was not very high, there were no other mountains
higher than this.
When the flood waters receded, the people floated down with
it and landed up in different places.
That is why there are different tribes today, each one with
a language of its own. Although our languages are not the same
now, it was similar before the floor waters occurred.
